Based in Asheville, NC, Tranzmission Prison Project (TPP) is one of a growing number of LGBTQ+-focused prison abolition/advocacy groups in the US. We are a volunteer-run, non-hierarchical organization, and provide free books, zines, prisoner resources, and other means of support to incarcerated folks nationwide.

We believe that, in the words of Reina Gossett, “people who are queer and trans are particularly vulnerable to state violence.” TPP offers support and resources solely to folks who fall under the LGBTQ+ umbrella, as well as women and people incarcerated in women’s facilities. There are many nationwide organizations and prison books projects that offer support to all incarcerated folks; you can find info about those comrades on our “Groups We Love” page.
